American Made Carbon Prize

Carbon Management Collegiate Prize Competition

The NHSSF Power Connector Team continues to support the American Made Network.  Our team was recently selected to support the Carbon Management Collegiate Prize Competition.  The goal of the Carbon Management Collegiate prize is to propose innovative and creative business models for transporting carbon dioxide across a regional network. These business plans will come from interdisciplinary teams of undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in winning cash prizes

An Informational Webinar will be held on November 29th at 11am EST. During the webinar, prize administrators will give an overview of who can apply, what to submit, and how entries will be judged. Register now to see how this prize can help shape the future of carbon management!

NHSSF President & CEO appointed to serve at MDEAT board of trustees

We are very proud and pleased to announce that on November 17, Kimberly T. Henderson - Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida President & CEO - was appointed as a new member to serve at the Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust board of trustees.

Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT) was created to ensure Black residents participate in Miami-Dade County's economic growth. MDEAT is an instrumentality of the Miami-Dade County government. MDEAT operates four divisions: 1) Economic Development; 2) Housing; 3) Youth Services; and 4) Research and Policy.

This appointment demonstrates Ms. Henderson leadership in the housing & economic development spectrum. As a minority-led and minority-serving HUD-approved housing agency, NHSSF will keep its steady fast commitment to revitalize Black communities across South Florida!

Give Miami Day logo

Give Miami Day 2022 was a big success thanks to you!

This Give Miami Day was our most successful to date. With the support of 91 generous donors and Champions for NHSSF, we were able to raise $12,000.

These funds will help us in our mission to continue to help low- and moderate-income families across South Florida on their path to financial freedom and homeownership. Thanks to the generosity displayed, we will be able to help many families secure their dream of buying their first house and helping to create intergenerational wealth.

NHSSF provides a multitude of services geared towards helping the community including homeownership education and counseling, financial capability services, rental and foreclosure education, and the development of affordable housing. And we couldn’t provide all these services without the support and commitment of this generous network of donors and partners.

Outside Give Miami Day, NHSSF still accepts donations, so if you didn’t have the time to show your support, you can donate now here:
