
Mortgage Relief Program (MRP)
In partnership with Miami-Dade County’s Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) and the Office of Housing Advocacy
General Description
The Mortgage Relief Program (MRP) will provide assistance to Miami-Dade County homeowners who are experiencing hardship as outlined below and struggling to pay their mortgage and/or utility bills. Throughout the duration of the program, applicants can receive up to $1,500 per household towards late mortgage payments, late homeowner association (HOA) fees, homeowners insurance and/or late utility assistance.

Applicant/Project Eligibility
All applicants must provide proof of income and documentation to ensure that the total household income does not exceed 140% Area Median Income (AMI) threshold (as shown in the chart below). Applicants must be a Miami-Dade County homeowner and requesting assistance for primary residence.
Required documents, to upload through the online portal, (that apply to your specific situation):

- Supporting documentation for type of assistance requested, as applicable

- Homeowners Insurance Statement
- Homeowners Association Dues/ Fees Statement, showing past due amount
- Utility Bill, Final Notice, showing past due amount
- Proof of Ownership (property tax card)
- MRP W-9 Form (vendor)- to be completed by the provider(s) for which assistance is being requested: mortgage servicer, homeowners association, homeowner’s insurance agency, and/ or utility provider

Starting May 23, NHSSF will have staff located at some community resource center locations. Interested participants needing assistance with their application can meet with an MRP staff member on a first-come, first-served basis; extended wait times may be expected.

How to Apply
Miami-Dade County residents will be able to apply online. For computer access, you may visit one of the 12 Community Resource Centers (CRCs) throughout Miami-Dade County, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.
Please be advised, Community Resource Center Staff, only provide computer access. They will not process applications or be able to provide status updates.
If you are having trouble registering on the portal, please be advised that we are aware of the issue, and it is being resolved. Please notify us if you experience this issue and provide your first and last name. We will respond with a username/ temporary password within 1 business day.

Here's what to expect when you apply through the online portal:
1. Click the 'Register' link to begin the process.
2. Create your free account to gain access to the application page.
3. Complete page 1 of the Portal Intake. For the question, 'How are you completing your application?', please select 'Online Portal'.
4. Please select 'Mortgage Relief Program' for the 'Type of Program' and 'Programs Applying For' fields.
5. Select 'Yes' and enter the $ amount of assistance you are requesting in the corresponding fields. Select 'No' if you do not require a particular type of assistance.
6. Enter the amount of income you receive each month from the list of sources.
7. Upload the requested documents and download, complete and upload the required forms.
8. Select 'Neighborhood Housing Services of South Florida' as the Primary Provider on the final step of the application.
There is no guarantee that Mortgage Relief Program funds will be awarded to you. Client access to funds is based on proper documentation, degree of client needs and the availability of program funds. In addition, your application will be reviewed, processed, and you will be contacted within five (5) business days to inform you of your application status.
Please allow at least, 5 business days for applications to be processed, Applicants who are seniors, disabled, families with children, and households with late mortgage of 3 to 12 months will be deemed a priority
All required documents must be completed and submitted to our office within 15 days. Failure to submit required documents within the timeframe will result in the application being denied. Applicants may reapply.
