Homebuyer Education Workshop

A successful Homebuyer Education Workshop for the Haitian community

In celebration of National Homeownership Month and after many months under strict or partial non-gathering restrictions, we were thrilled to have hosted our first post-pandemic, in-person event. The 8-hour Homebuyer Education Workshop is a HUD certified workshop offered in a group session and, this time, tailored for Haitian-American residents. The workshop was held thoroughly in Creole and a we awarded certifications to all attendees upon completion.

Following our mission to bring economic development and revitalization opportunities to distressed communities, we offered this educational opportunity to Haitian residents in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. This class helped them prepare to purchase a home. It covered all of the key topics when qualifying for a loan to purchase a property, thanks to the participation of knowledgeable experts in the housing industry such as lenders, insurers, real estate brokers, inspectors & title agents.

The workshop was possible thanks to the support of Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime (District 2) and the Vice Mayor of the City of North Miami Beach, Paule Villard, where the event was held.
