Associate Acquisition Analyst: In this position you will work with NHSSF staff to accelerate the acquisition and development of single family housing. No doubt you have heard about the shortage of available affordable housing in South Florida. You will help us to speed up our acquisition of housing, lots, and identify ways we can shorten the time it takes to go from blighted home or empty lot to a ready to move in home.
We seek VISTA Volunteers who are energetic, savvy with computers, flexible, curious and excited about learning new things. If you have an interest in real estate, housing, urban planning, architecture, visual arts this could be the right opportunity for you. You must be able to quickly learn software applications; you must be able to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. You should be comfortable using numbers and calculations. Bilingual Spanish or Haitian Creole a plus.
Community Engaged Research Associate: In this position you will work closely with the Director of Homebuyer Programs and Financial Wellbeing and the President to fulfil our goal to create more affordable ownership housing in Overtown, a historically African American neighborhood of Miami. You will perform research, interviews, and meet with local organizations and residents to explore and understand their housing needs and interest in using community based arts to drive community and economic development. You must be able to deliver presentations, conduct research, conduct field research, and use publically available resources to gather information. The best candidates will have a passion for community; is highly organized and can use Microsoft Office applications. Applicants from Overtown or similar communities facing extreme gentrification pressures are encouraged to apply.
