NHSSF is a charter member of the NeighborWorks® Network, a national partnership of more than 230 community development organizations chartered by the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, doing business as NeighborWorks® America.
In February 2009, NHSSF partnered with Fannie Mae to open the first Mortgage Help Center in the nation. The center is staffed by NHSSF and represents the first time that Fannie Mae is working directly with mortgage borrowers. It’s a resource where homeowners with loans owned by Fannie Mae can obtain housing counseling and help in communicating with their servicers about mortgage workouts other than foreclosure.
NHSSF is the lead consortium member of the Miami-Dade NSP consortium which applied to HUD for $89 Million in NSP2 funds and was awarded the full amount. Besides NHSSF, the consortium also includes six additional members: City of Miami, Carrfour Supportive Housing, Little Haiti Housing Association, Opa-Locka Community Development Corporation, St. John Community Development Corporation and the Urban League of Greater Miami.
